This month's presenter is Andrew Townes with Parex USA.  Andrew’s topic will be on “Adhered Masonry Veneer Systems”.

Overview of Presentation:  ADHERED MASONRY VENEER SYSTEMS

Adhered masonry walls using veneers such as thin brick, thin stone, and stucco have been in use for decades. Continuous rigid insulation (CI) has become increasingly popular with adhered masonry veneers because it provides far better insulating performance than batt insulation between studs. . This course reviews the various installation methods and types of thin veneer wall systems, and the benefits and limitations of each. Participants will understand how changes in the Energy Codes requiring Continuous Insulation can poses challenges in installation methods and review the available options in installation methods to meet these requirements.

Presenter's Bio-

Andy Townes CCPR, CSI, has been with Parex USA for 29 years representing the El Rey Stucco, Lahabra, Teifs, Parex and Merkrete brands. He most recently served as the Regional Programs Chair for the Southwest Region of Construction Specifications Institute. Andy has also served as Regional Membership Chair for CSI National. His committed service is complemented by other notable professional accomplishments, including earning his CDT (Construction Documents Technologist) in 1992 and become the first to earn the CCPR (Certified Construction Product Representative) in the state of New Mexico in 2004. He is the Architectural Sales Manager for Parex USA in the Rocky Mountain region, servicing New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona.

Andy is always happy to share his knowledge and experience of construction and materials to assist members of the design profession with their stucco, Insulated Stucco (CI), Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, EIFS, Water WRB, Tile setting, He’s built a reputation for his ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions, and provide responsive and timely service.
