This month's presenter is Jim Holt with Tyvek.  Jim's topic will be on "ASTM E2357 vs. ASTM E1677”.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the impact of air leakage, the importance of air barriers for air leakage control, and the current air barrier codes and standards.
2. Understand the design criteria for air barrier performance and current standards for testing the performance of installed air barriers.
3. Learn about the differences between ASTM E1677 and ASTM E2357 air barrier performance level.
4. Understand how installation details could impact air barrier performance level.

Presenter's Bio- Jim Holt is a Senior Tyvek Specialist. He has been in the building envelope all of his working career. A little overview.

1. Pinckney Construction. Home Builder Ely Minnesota.
2. Diversified insulation. Worked on Testing insulation with under writers laboratories. Ran a Small laboratory. Manufacturer. Mt. Pleasant Michigan.
3. Greenwald Construction. Commercial builder. Carpenter labor. Mt. Pleasant Michigan.
4. Pella Products of Colorado. 5.6 years.
5. Andersen Windows and Adam Wholesale. 13 years.
6. RW Specialties. Tyvek 11 years.
7. Cosella Dorken products. 4.5 years. District manager.
8. RW Specialties. Tyvek 1 year, came back in 2017.

Education

• Graduated from Ely Memorial High School.
• 2 year associates degree from Mid Michigan college. Plus about another three years with all ranges of classes attended at Bemidji State, and Central Michigan.
• Also attended Colorado State Ft. Collins. We started the first club hockey team. Took Colorado history classes so I could play on team.

Hobbies and interest. Skiing, Retired hockey player. Guitar playing.

Lives in Colorado Springs, now my 18th year here with my wonderful wife Debbie.
